Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: suggesting help, explaining the motivation, and detailing availability. However, the response is 10 words under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat brief and could have been expanded to better meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer, but the lack of sufficient development in the content prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific part of the prompt. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and mechanical. For example, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall structure is coherent, the limited length restricts the opportunity to demonstrate a wider range of linking words or more sophisticated cohesive devices, which are necessary for higher band scores.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task and conveys the intended meaning clearly. You have used appropriate terms related to household chores, such as 'cleaning', 'laundry', and 'grocery shopping'. However, the range is somewhat limited and relies on fairly common, everyday language. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more precise or descriptive vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range. For instance, instead of 'helping you in your home', you could use 'assisting with household management'. There are no significant spelling errors, but the lexical variety is basic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The letter contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. Most sentences are grammatically correct and easy to understand. There are a few minor errors, such as 'for few hours' (missing an article: 'for a few hours') and 'look forward for your prompt response' (the correct preposition is 'to': 'look forward to your prompt response'). These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To achieve a higher score, you should aim for more consistent accuracy in complex structures and ensure prepositions are used correctly.
