Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I am writing in response to your advertisement for someone to help you in your home for a few hours a day upcoming summer. I would be very interested in doing this work and believe that i could be a useful and reliable helper.

I could assist you in variety of household work, such as cleaning and tidying the rooms, washing dishes, doing the laundry and preparing simple meals. In addition, I would be happy to help you in grocery shopping. I am responsible, hardworking and well organised, so all the task were completed carefully.

I would particularly like to do this job because i enjoy helping others and would appreciate opportunity to meet and communicate with an English-speaking person. As English is not my first language, I believe that speaking with you regularly would also help me in improving my communication skill while gaining work experience.

Regarding my availability, I will be free from Monday to Friday throughout next summer, preferably between 9 AM to 2 PM. However, i will not be available during the first two weeks of july, As i will be visiting my relatives. I will also be unable to work on weekends.
