Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt: suggesting help, explaining the motivation, and detailing availability. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development of these points is somewhat basic. For instance, the explanation of why you want the work is quite personal and brief. To reach a higher band, you could expand on how your skills specifically benefit Mrs Barrett's household needs. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter of application, though it leans slightly towards an informal email style. Overall, the task requirements are fully met, but the depth of information could be improved to provide a more professional impression.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You have used some basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to link your points. However, the transition between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more refined. For example, the final paragraph is quite short and could be better integrated with the closing statement. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more naturally rather than relying on a list-like structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'cleaning', 'baby sitting', and 'washing utensils'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some word-choice errors, such as 'kithen things' instead of 'kitchen tasks' or 'household chores', and 'family survial' instead of 'family support' or 'financial needs'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to domestic work and professional communication. The spelling errors, such as 'siting' for 'sitting' and 'Morover', do not impede communication but indicate a need for more careful proofreading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I am writing this email you to request you' (missing prepositions/awkward phrasing), 'am good to all kithen things' (incorrect preposition), and 'my father is no more' (a bit informal/clunky). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization of 'i'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
