Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained how you could help (cooking and cleaning), why you want the job (financial reasons and availability), and your specific availability (Monday to Saturday). The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly on your experience as a cook to make your application more persuasive, as the current ideas are somewhat brief. However, the task is fully covered, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'that’s why' to link your ideas. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel a bit mechanical. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words or phrases to connect sentences more fluidly. For instance, instead of starting sentences with 'I', you could vary your sentence structure to improve the overall progression of your argument. The paragraphing is appropriate for a letter format.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'professional cook', 'household work', and 'financially'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'hardworkong' (hardworking) and 'whose who' (those who). Additionally, the closing 'Your honesty' is an incorrect collocation; a standard formal closing would be 'Yours sincerely'. To improve, focus on using more precise vocabulary related to domestic tasks and ensure you use standard formal letter conventions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, particularly with capitalization (e.g., 'i', 'monday', 'sunday') and punctuation. There are also minor errors in subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'help you in cleaning purpose'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic capitalization rules and ensure your sentences are punctuated correctly.
