Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention being a medical student, you could have expanded more on how this specifically benefits Mrs Barrett beyond just 'nutrition'. Additionally, there is a contradiction in your availability section where you state you are available from 7am to 5pm, but then immediately restrict it to 7am to 12pm. This inconsistency impacts the clarity of your message.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific part of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Therefore', and 'however' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and minor punctuation errors, such as the comma splice in the first sentence ('I hope you are doing well, I am very happy...'). The transition between the general availability and the specific time restriction is also a bit abrupt, which affects the overall cohesion of the final body paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'contribute', 'application', and 'nutrition'. However, there are several instances of incorrect word choice and spelling errors that detract from the quality of the writing. For example, 'advertise' should be 'advertisement', 'breck' should be 'break', and 'household talks' is an incorrect collocation for 'household chores'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage and better attention to spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions. For example, 'I will have visit my family' is grammatically incorrect and should be 'I will be visiting my family'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'I can help you to select you diet food' instead of 'your diet'. These errors are noticeable, though they rarely impede the overall communication of your request.
