Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and detailing your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a potential employer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention cleaning and laundry, expanding slightly on your experience or efficiency would have made the response more persuasive. Additionally, the opening sentence is slightly repetitive and awkward, as it refers to the advertisement in the third person ('someone to help her') rather than addressing the recipient directly. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the ideas could be more fully developed to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each corresponding to a specific requirement of the task. This makes the structure clear and easy to follow. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' and 'also' to connect ideas. There is a lack of variety in transition words, which makes the flow feel a bit repetitive. To improve, try using a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'regarding my availability' to create a more sophisticated progression of ideas between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs and availability clearly. You use common, everyday words effectively, such as 'laundry,' 'grocery shopping,' and 'beneficial.' However, the range is limited, and there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'enjoying in helping' (should be 'enjoy helping') and 'plains' (likely a misspelling of 'plans'). To achieve a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to household tasks or professional communication, and ensure that your word forms are grammatically accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'a advertisement' (should be 'an advertisement'), 'I will not available' (missing the verb 'be'), and 'a five days in week' (incorrect article usage). Additionally, the closing 'Your faithfully' is incorrect; it should be 'Yours faithfully.' These errors are noticeable and occur consistently, although they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
