IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I came across your advertisment and I am interested to take this opportunity to help you with some household chores in summer.

I am a university student, and I will be available to help you in my vacation in summer. I know most of the household work as I help my mother with the same at home. I can help you with cleaning, dusting, moping, washing dishes and also with preparing healthy meals. However, I would like to do this work because in summer break I was looking so work and I am not interested in working in food chains and all, as I also have to do homeworks to I need to focus on that too. By helping you with house work at your home I will be able to focus on studies too as I will finish all your work by end of afternoon.

I am available from Morning to Afternoon from 5am-5pm on weekdays and weekends. Hope you consider my application and I will wait to hear from you as asoon as possible.
