Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I am writing this letter in response to an advertisement which posted on local newspaper last Monday. As you need some help in doing household chores, I would like to assist you in cleaning, washing clothes and preparing food.

I am looking for volunteer work in summer holidays and I also love to spend some quality time with the elderly people, so I would like to to help you for some hours in a day. In addition to this, as I am a student of personal support worker course, it would also help me to get a experience in dealing with strangers.

After finishing exams, I am planning to learn French language in a local institute and would join classes on Mondays and Tuesdays. Therefore, I will be free to help you on the rest of the week and I can come to your home in the evening time from 4pm to 7pm.

Please inform if this time is suitable for you.
