Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs Barrett,

My name is Ishika and I live next door to you. I saw your advertisement in today's newspaper for someone to help in your home; I am inquiring as I am in a search of a part-time work.

Firstly, I was working as a chef in a nearby restaurant for past few months; if you want any help with cooking, I can do it. Additionally, I love pets; so, I can assist you in taking care of your dog. I had to resign from my previous job because the restaurant closed permanently; I can only work part-time due to having the classes on the most of the days a week.

Lastly, I would like to mention my availability, it can help you in figuring out if this schedule can work for both of us. My classes are usually on Monday to Friday in the noon from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. I can either come in the morning at 8:00 am to 11:30 am, or in the evening from 4:30 to 8:00pm.

I live next door so commute is not an issue to me. Let me know if you need any further information for my background check.
