Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing this letter regarding the advertisement you published last month that said that you need someone to help you in your home for several hours a day next summer. I am available to work in your home for that period of time.

To begin with, I am a young college-going girl with a lot of energy. So, I could do most of the tasks faster than others. Another compelling point is that I am a good cook, so I can prepare food for you as well.

The primary reason to choose this work is that I live very close to your house. Also, I have holidays due to summer break at that time. I was also looking for a job. That is why, when I came across your advertisement, I quickly decided to apply for this job.

Moving forward, I will be available in the mornings from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., while in the afternoons my availability will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Outside of these time periods, I am not available to work because I have joined some extracurricular classes as well.
