Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I hope you are doing well. I have seen your advertisement on the local website and would like to provide my assistance with your housework next summer.

I am physically strong and am able to lift anything but not too heavy. I can also help with things like cleaning, gardening, or moving things. One more advantage is I can also cook, clean the dishes, or even look after kids or dogs.

The reason I would like to do this work because it is going to be my summer vacation next year and I am looking to get a part-time employment which would help me financially.

Since I am planning to attend a computer course next year, I would not be available throughout the week. I already have the information about timings. Therefore, I would not be available from Monday to Wednesday. However, I am going to be totally free on Thursday and Friday including the weekends.
