Dear Mrs Barrett

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter regarding job posted for house help as I am really interested in it.

To begin with, my past experiences such as industrial cleaner and a personal support workers makes me a perfect candidate for this job. Moreover, I do have knowledge of power tolls so I can also take care of small maintaince. . I am certified for the Level-C first Aid as well as CPR which can be really beneficial in emergency situations. Furthermore, the sense of helping motivates me to give my best is this job because I have worked as a volunteer for many charity in past. I will be on summer break for summer vacation for 4 months so this will be perfect opportunity for me as it fulfills both my goal and motive.

On the other hand, I want to let you know I won't be able to start on advertised date as I have my school until mid of the October which means I will be ready to serve after that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, there is a significant contradiction regarding your availability. You mention you will be on summer break for four months, but then state you cannot start until mid-October. Since the job is for 'next summer,' this creates a logical inconsistency that affects the clarity of your response. To improve, ensure your timeline is consistent with the context of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'Furthermore' to link your ideas. However, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is slightly abrupt due to the logical inconsistency mentioned earlier. The use of paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow, though the connection between your skills and your availability could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'industrial cleaner,' 'personal support worker,' and 'emergency situations.' There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'tolls' instead of 'tools' and 'maintaince' instead of 'maintenance.' While these do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading. You have attempted to use some topic-specific vocabulary, which is good, but you should focus on ensuring these terms are used accurately in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'job posted' (missing an article), 'makes me' (subject-verb agreement error with 'experiences'), and 'for many charity' (pluralization error). Additionally, there is a punctuation error with a double period after 'maintaince.' While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
