IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs. Barrett,

My name is Shubham Savaliya. I am writing this letter to request information about the service that I will be able to provide you. I have a good experience with the certain type of activities.

I had a wide range of experience in household chores. So that I could be able to help you in such types of activities as mopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. Also, I can wash the clothes and help you to take care of your amenities.

I would like to do these activities because you helped me to teach English very well. When I was not able to pay the fee for learning the English language, you were the only teacher who taught me without any fees.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to help you during my exam season, from about 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the one week. After that I will be available. I have to focus on my examination because my scholarship totally depends on my academic performance. If I could not get sufficient score in my exam then governments will not allocate me the scholarship.

I hope you understand my situation, and thank you for your support. I am looking forward to your response.
