Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: suggesting help, explaining the motivation, and detailing availability. However, the tone is inconsistent and overly informal for a letter to a stranger (e.g., 'wanna', 'doing great'). The development of ideas is somewhat thin; for instance, the explanation of why you want the work is limited to 'i like helping people'. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your skills and provide a more professional justification for your interest in the position, while maintaining a formal tone appropriate for a business-related enquiry.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is generally coherent, but the paragraphing is non-existent, which makes the text feel like a single block of information. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the specific details, the lack of clear paragraph breaks hinders the flow. Cohesive devices are used, but they are quite basic (e.g., 'For more', 'Please'). To improve, you should use clear paragraphing to separate the introduction, the body points, and the closing, and incorporate a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and contains several informal or non-standard expressions, such as 'wanna' and 'doing from last 3 years'. There are also spelling errors like 'proffesional' and 'faithfull'. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on using more precise, professional terminology and ensure correct spelling to enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('help in'), incorrect verb tenses ('doing from last 3 years'), and punctuation issues (e.g., 'dear mrs, barrett'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence variety. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to cause difficulty for the reader. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement, proper punctuation, and using a wider variety of complex sentence structures.
