Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barret,

I am writing to apply for a helper position at your residence, which you recently advertised.

The main reason I feel I would be a perfect applicant for this position is I possess required skills you mentioned, especially the maintenance and electrical ones. I am experienced home cleaner and lawn mover too. Moreover, I am comfortable in following the instructions to perform other duties.

I am a full-time student and it is really challenging for me to find a job which aligns with my educational schedule. Therefore, I am mostly looking for the opportunities which require no schedule but the daily tasks has to be finished, within reasonable time.

Summer is the only season we get to enjoy outdoor life in this country. However, I try my best to maintain my work-life balance. That's why, I will be available to work any time on the Friday evenings, Saturday anytime and Sunday till noon, until the weekend before the Universities reopen.

I look forward for your positive response in this matter.
