Dear Mrs Barrett,
Student answer (Band 8.5)
Dear Mrs Barrett,
I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in the household assistant position you recently advertised in the local newspaper. As a resident of your neighbourhood, I would welcome the opportunity to assist you in your home during the upcoming summer months.
Given my previous experience with domestic tasks, I can help you with a wide range of daily household duties. I am proficient in light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and maintaining general organization. Additionally, I am an enthusiastic cook and would be delighted to assist with meal preparation or grocery shopping at the local market. If needed, I am also happy to help with light gardening tasks or basic administrative duties such as organizing mail.
I am particularly keen to take on this role because I enjoy practical, hands-on work that directly supports others in my community. Furthermore, as an aspiring language student, working with a native English speaker like yourself would provide a wonderful opportunity to practice my conversational English while delivering high-quality, reliable support in your home.
Regarding my availability, I will be fully available from June 1st through August 31st. I can work up to three hours a day, preferably during the mornings from Monday to Friday. However, I will not be available on weekends or during the third week of July due to a long-planned family commitment.
I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with you for a brief interview to discuss how I can best support you.
Yours sincerely,
