Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I would like to express my interest in the advertisement you have posted regarding the house helper.

I am willing to offer you my services as I am available for the opportunity and would like to help with cleaning, gardening and cooking for upcoming summer season. I know how to drive, which would be great if you need to visit town for groceries or any appointments. In addition, I live in the same area as yours, and currently looking for a job that would be flexible enough for me to look after my kids as well. I have worked in a hospital for years which makes me a suitable candidate for you as I know how to deal with health problems.

My availability is limited as On the weekends my children are home. I am available from Monday to Friday in the morning until 3:00pm. I am more than happy to come by on the weekends for an hour or two to check upon your garden.

I am hoping to get a positive response from you and looking forward to work together with you.
