Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs. Barrett,

I am writing this letter in context to the advertisement published in the newspaper, The Hindu regarding the requirement of an individual to help in household activities in the upcoming summer.

I would like to inform you that I could provide assistance in basic household chores such as laundry and cleaning as I already have experience in this work. Also, I could provide support in the repair of electrical appliances due to the fact that I have little knowledge regarding the same.

I am really interested in this work as I can manage the work timings along with my academics. Further, I enjoy assisting other people in various household activities as it helps me to socially connect and build relationship with individuals.

Additionally, please note that I would be available in the evening hours only as most of my course lectures are scheduled during the morning hours.
