Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully address all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You suggest specific household duties such as sweeping, mopping, and kitchen help, state why you would like to do the work to assist busy people, and outline your availability clearly from Monday to Friday after 10:00 AM. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, while your housekeeping duties are detailed, the explanation of why you want the job relies on general statements rather than deeper personal motivation. To move to a higher level, you should extend and support all your main ideas with greater depth and clarity while maintaining a clear, appropriate tone throughout the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your letter shows a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable beginning, middle, and end, including an appropriate opening and sign-off. You attempt to guide the reader using cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore'. However, the use of these connectors can feel somewhat mechanical and repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'As far as, this my favorite job'. Paragraphing is used, but transitions between your thoughts lack smooth progression. To achieve a higher standard, you need to use cohesive devices more flexibly and naturally, and ensure that your sentences flow logically from one to the next without abrupt shifts in structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms related to employment and household chores such as 'advertisement', 'housekeeping', and 'market'. You also attempt less common vocabulary phrases like 'hectic schedule of corporate job'. However, there are noticeable lexical and word choice inaccuracies, such as writing 'I am writing to this letter for helping' instead of 'to help', and referring to 'a 10 years of experience'. Spelling and word-choice errors are present, though they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, you must use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision, better control of collocations, and fewer slips in word form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You employ a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms to convey your message. There are instances of correct structure, but you make several errors in grammar, articles, and prepositions. Examples include missing or incorrect articles, such as 'a hectic schedule of corporate job', preposition errors like 'experience to tackle', and punctuation slips in your salutation and sign-off. These errors are present throughout the text, but they rarely impede communication. To improve your score in this area, you need to produce a higher proportion of error-free sentences, improve your control over articles and prepositions within grammatical patterns, and demonstrate a more consistent command of complex structures.
