Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the main parts of the task by suggesting how you could help, mentioning the reason for wanting the work, and outlining your availability. However, the development of these ideas is limited and under-developed, particularly regarding the specific tasks like cleaning and cooking where more detail would make the proposal more convincing. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response falls significantly short of the 150-word minimum, which restricts the depth of the task fulfilment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
There is a coherent overall arrangement to the letter, with basic paragraphing used to separate your points regarding skills, motivations, and availability. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'TO BE HONEST' and 'IF I TALK ABOUT', though referencing and transitions can be a little mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the lack of more sophisticated cohesive links prevents the writing from reaching a higher level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'ADVERTISED' instead of 'advertisement', 'HOUSE HOLD' written as two words, 'ORGANSING', and 'PACKAGEING'. Additionally, phrases like 'KEEN INTERESTED' demonstrate unnatural collocation. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are often faulty, such as 'I SAW YOUR ADVERTISED ABOUT THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR'. Frequent grammatical errors occur, including missing articles ('I AM INTERNATIONAL STUDENT'), punctuation mistakes like inappropriate use of capital letters throughout the text, and awkward prepositions. These errors require some effort from the reader to parse the meaning.
