Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points in the task: you offer to prepare meals, shop and do outdoor work; explain that the income would help with your tuition and expenses; and give specific weekday and weekend availability. These details make your purpose clear and relevant. The offer of help is the strongest part, especially your reference to hotel work, while your reasons for wanting the job are brief and could be developed by explaining what experience or qualities you would bring. Clarify the weekend hours and state when you are unavailable, since the task asks for both. A more appropriate opening and closing would also make the letter feel more complete and suitably addressed to Mrs Barrett.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable progression: you introduce the advertisement, describe the help you can offer, explain your motivation, and finish with your availability. Paragraph breaks and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Lastly” help the reader follow these points. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and the opening paragraph combines several ideas in a long run-on sentence, making the information harder to process. Use full stops to separate your offer from your experience, and connect related details more naturally. The final availability information would also be clearer if weekday and weekend arrangements were presented in separate sentences, with the times you cannot work stated explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “daily meals,” “outdoor work,” “hotel industry,” and “expenses.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural phrases are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “vey intrestedto,” “prepering,” “grosery,” and “full ay”; these reduce the accuracy and polish of the message. Some expressions, such as “house helper” and “do grocery,” are not natural choices in this context. Build a more reliable range of everyday employment and household vocabulary, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases for your duties and availability would make the letter sound clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your main message. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence boundaries, verb forms, articles, and prepositions. For example, “I hope you are doing well, I see you advertisement” joins two sentences with a comma and uses an incorrect verb form; “I would be … to taking” also has an incorrect verb pattern. The availability sentence beginning “As i mentioned” is difficult to follow because several clauses run together. Use full stops and commas to separate ideas, and practise patterns such as “would be interested in doing” and “I saw your advertisement.” These changes would improve control while preserving your clear meaning.
