Dear Mrs Barrett,

I am Dhruv Patel. I live just next to your society. I am writing this letter to inform you that I am ready to help you for few hours in next summer.

Well, I saw your advertisment in local newspaper and I read it yesterday. Well, I am ready to help you for moving furniture during your renovation in next summer. I Know it's very difficult to move all furniture from ground floor to second floor while we are alredy live there. I have all moving related stuff such as rope which is helpful for lifting heavy items like fridge, sofa. And also I have 3-5 different type of boxes which may be helpful for packaging stuff regarding kitchen and bedroom.

I would like to do this wok because I know you are old now and you live alone right now. It's very difficult to handle moving alone. And during next summer I have vacation from school. Hence, I need to do some activities that will keeps me busy and active.

I would like to request you to arrange during week days because I will be out during weekends with my family.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you offer help with moving furniture and packing, explain that you want to stay active during your school vacation, and state that weekdays suit you while weekends do not. These details make the letter relevant and your purpose clear. However, the help you offer is framed around a renovation and moving items between floors, which the task does not specify, so this assumption narrows the offer. Your reason for wanting the work is also less fully developed: you mention being busy and active, but could explain another personal benefit or why this particular role appeals to you. Clarify the kind of household help you can provide and give a more specific availability schedule.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the help you can offer, a reason for applying, and a closing with your availability. This makes the main points easy to locate. Some linking is mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “Well,” and the transition from moving furniture to your personal motivation is abrupt. The availability statement, “during week days,” is understandable but does not say which hours you can work, and the closing could connect more naturally to your request for a reply. Use a wider range of simple transitions and organise the practical details—tasks and schedule—so they flow together more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “renovation,” “lifting heavy items,” and “vacation.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as naming a rope and boxes. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, including “moving related stuff,” “packaging stuff,” and “do this wok.” Spelling errors such as “advertisment” and “alredy” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your offer, but they limit precision and naturalness. Choose more appropriate household-work vocabulary and check spelling; for example, describe “packing kitchen and bedroom items” rather than “packaging stuff.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mixture of short statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a result introduced by “Hence.” The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in both simple and complex structures. Examples include “help you for few hours,” “which will keeps me busy,” and “I will be out during weekends,” where articles, verb agreement, and tense or article use need attention. The sentence beginning “I Know it's very difficult…” also shifts awkwardly between the present and the situation being described. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent tense, and proofread punctuation and capitalisation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
