Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the main points by offering help with cleaning, cooking and laundry, explaining that you want to help because Mrs Barrett has health problems, and giving some information about your availability. However, the response only partially fulfils the task: the reason for wanting the work is not clearly personal or developed, and the availability is vague. “Daily morning time” does not specify which days or hours, while the evening and night restriction is clearer. The letter also begins “Dear Mr Barrett” rather than using the requested name and ends with an incomplete sign-off. To strengthen the response, explain your motivation more directly and give precise times and days when you can and cannot work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a basic structure, and “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” signal the main sections. The reader can generally identify your offer, your comments about Mrs Barrett’s health, and your availability. However, progression is not always clear: the advertisement is mentioned twice, and the second paragraph repeats the offer of help rather than developing a distinct reason for wanting the job. Some links are difficult to follow, such as “When watched then i decide work in your home,” and the final availability point is not clearly separated from the apology. Use one paragraph for each task point, avoid repeating information, and connect ideas with clear references and complete linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “cleaning,” “cooking,” “laundry,” “part time job,” and “availability.” These words help communicate the general offer. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “assessment” for the reason for writing, “human category,” “your advertise,” and “home management.” Spelling and form errors such as “oppologise” and “advertise” also reduce clarity. Aim for natural phrases suited to a formal letter, such as “I saw your advertisement,” “I would be pleased to help,” and “household chores.” Check spelling and choose expressions that convey your intended meaning precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses such as “because” and “when,” but the range of sentence structures is limited, and many sentences contain errors that make the reader work to understand them. Examples include “I could helped,” “I want help you,” “You can't to do work,” and “I can't available,” where verb forms and sentence patterns are not controlled. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “when” beginning a sentence and “i” throughout. Practise accurate basic patterns first: “I could help with…,” “I would like to help because…,” and “I am available in the mornings, but I cannot work in the evenings.” Then add longer sentences only when you can control their grammar.
