Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you offer cleaning, gardening and plumbing-related help, explain that the work would support your studies and give you productive summer work, and state that you are free for the last three days of the week but unavailable on Monday and Tuesday. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. However, the help you could provide is listed rather than explained—for example, you could say which household tasks you are confident doing or how often you could do them. Your reasons for wanting the work are also somewhat unclear, particularly the link between volunteer work, completing your education and preparing assignments. Clarifying these points and making the offer more specific would develop the response more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens by referring to the advertisement, then gives your reasons for applying, explains your availability, and closes politely. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these main points, and the reader can follow the message without difficulty. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. In the second paragraph, the relationship between needing volunteer work, completing your education and preparing assignments is not fully explained. The transition from your current job to your available days is also quite abrupt. Use clearer links to show how each detail supports your application, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected point. This would make the progression feel more deliberate rather than simply listing information.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including relevant terms such as “residential cleaning,” “gardening,” “plumbing” and “part time job.” There are also attempts to use more specific language about your experience and studies. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “which shows you need,” “a experience,” “attented few workshops,” and “valuable response.” Spelling and apostrophe errors, including “attented” and “I`d,” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for familiar, accurate phrases such as “I saw that you are looking for help” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate using a mix of simple and longer sentence forms, and most of the message remains understandable. For example, you use a reason clause in “I can’t come on the Monday and Tuesday because I have my soccer class on these days.” Some grammatical errors remain, including the article and noun pattern in “I have a experience,” the missing article in “I’m graduating student,” and the structure “It will helpful.” The sentence about needing volunteer work and preparing assignments also joins several ideas without making their grammatical relationship clear. Review articles, verb forms and sentence construction, and use full stops to separate ideas when a sentence becomes difficult to control. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the letter.
