Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you offer help with medication, daily activities and exercise; explain that the work would fit around your research; and state that you cannot work on Sundays but are otherwise available. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. The care you can provide is the most specific part, while your reason for wanting the job is less fully explained: being free for research does not clearly show why this particular work appeals to you. Availability is also somewhat vague because “flexible time” does not give Mrs Barrett a likely daily schedule. Develop these points with a clearer personal motivation and specific hours to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall shape, with separate paragraphs for your interest and skills, your reason for applying, and your availability. The sequence is easy to follow, and the closing is appropriate. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. For example, “I am free in next summer for my research work” is followed by “I have to complete my research thoroughly,” which makes the reason for taking the job difficult to follow. The transition “However” does not introduce a contrast before the list of care duties. Improve the progression by explaining how the job fits alongside your research, and use linking words only when their relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “geriatric nursing,” “medication,” “daily life activities” and “research data,” so the reader can understand your intended skills and circumstances. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, but several word choices, collocations and spelling errors reduce naturalness: “caretaker” may suggest a different role from home-care assistance, while “newspapper,” “excercise” and “adnvance” are misspelled. Phrases such as “do everything to assist you” and “do my job with responsibility” are vague or unnatural. Aim for precise, conventional expressions for care duties and availability, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional phrase in “if you are agree with this.” The main message remains understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries are noticeable. For example, “I am writing to response you” has an incorrect verb pattern, “I can helps” has faulty agreement, and “I would also informd you” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also missing spaces after full stops and commas, which affect punctuation. Practise accurate patterns such as “I am writing in response to…” and check each sentence for a correctly formed verb and clear punctuation.
