Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you offer help with meals, laundry, cleaning, billing, driving and gardening; explain that you live nearby and want to improve your communication skills; and give a summer availability period, daily hours and a Sunday restriction. These details make the letter relevant and give Mrs Barrett a clear sense of what you can offer. The range of household tasks is particularly useful, although the reasons for wanting the work are less fully explained than the practical skills. To strengthen the response further, clarify how your existing part-time work in other homes relates to this position and give a little more detail about the hours you could reliably work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression, moving from your skills to your reasons for applying and then to your availability. Paragraphing supports this structure, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Finally” and “Regarding” help the reader follow the points. The sequence is logical throughout, though the repeated listing markers make the first paragraph somewhat mechanical. Some transitions and closing expressions are also awkward, particularly “I would be delighted to hear from you and to discuss about futher discussion,” which repeats the idea of discussion. Use a more natural closing sentence and vary the links between ideas so that the organisation remains clear without relying so heavily on enumerating words.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including relevant terms such as “laundry,” “online billing systems,” “international driving license” and “gardening.” These help communicate a useful range of services. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, but some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “writing this piece of writing,” “seeking for help,” “good choice,” and “discuss about” do not sound idiomatic in this letter. Spelling errors such as “Firsly,” “laundary,” “availibility” and “convinience” are noticeable, although the intended meaning is generally clear. Aim for concise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more precise and appropriate to a formal application.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, for example the sentence listing household skills and the explanation beginning “because I am living in the same area.” The main points remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “I am working in this field from last five years” (use a present perfect form with “for”), “I will be good choice” (an article is needed), and “I carry international driving license” (the article is missing). There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary problems, such as the missing space after “years.” and the comma after “Regarding.” To improve, practise accurate articles, verb forms and prepositions, and proofread sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
