Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by offering cooking, yard work and singing, and you explain that you live nearby and want to help. However, the availability requirement is only partly covered: “available first week of July” gives a start period, but does not clarify which days or hours you can work, or when you will be unavailable. Some offers also need clearer relevance or explanation, particularly taking your dog along and singing for Mrs Barrett. To strengthen the letter, state a practical schedule and any dates or times you cannot work, and develop the most useful household tasks more specifically—for example, preparing meals, cleaning, or gardening. The reader can understand your intention, but the details do not yet fully answer every part of the request.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce yourself, list possible help, then mention availability and contact details. Paragraph breaks also separate these stages. However, progression within the middle paragraph is weak: cooking, bringing a dog, clearing grass and singing are placed together without clear grouping or explanation. Connections such as “Moreover” are used, but the ideas do not always follow naturally, and the availability information is brief and abrupt. The opening also moves quickly from your introduction to the request. Organise the offers into a focused paragraph, then give availability in a separate, complete section, including both available and unavailable times. This would make the message easier to follow and reduce the impression of a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the basic offers, using words such as “cooking,” “clear” and “available.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “help you for some hours,” “good in cooking,” “backwards” and “sign for you.” Spelling errors such as “vacatiuons,” “beinging” and “freee” also make the writing look less controlled. Aim for more precise household vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, “help with household tasks,” “I enjoy cooking,” “back garden” and “sing for you” would express your meaning more naturally. A few accurate, specific phrases would be more effective than adding unrelated offers.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most of the message can be understood, and you attempt to connect ideas with clauses such as “as my summer vacations will start…” However, the sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts to combine several ideas often lack correct punctuation or sentence boundaries. For example, “I am good in cooking i always like to cook different things I will cook for you” runs several clauses together. There are also errors in verb forms and patterns, as in “I saw your advertisement and come to know,” and in articles or prepositions, as in “at your home” and “I am living just a street far away.” Use full stops to separate complete thoughts, and practise accurate present and past forms. More controlled sentence variety would improve clarity.
