Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you offer cleaning and gardening, explain your interest in helping and gaining experience, and give a clear availability pattern. The practical details about weekday afternoons and evenings and being free at weekends make the offer useful. The reasons are relevant, but the claim that Mrs Barrett is “kind hearted” is not explained, and the motivation for gaining experience is only briefly linked to your university education. The letter also calls the work “volunteer” work, although the task describes a job, which may create some uncertainty about your understanding of the arrangement. To strengthen the response, develop your reasons with a specific connection to the role and describe more precisely what household tasks you can undertake.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: you introduce your purpose, describe the help you can offer, explain your motivation, and then set out your availability before closing. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and phrases such as “For these reasons” and “so I can plan my schedule accordingly” help connect ideas. The organisation is easy to follow overall. Some links are less smooth, however: the sentence beginning “I like to help people in general” combines several reasons in a long chain, and the repeated “I would like” makes the motivation paragraph feel slightly repetitive. You could improve flow by separating the reasons into shorter, clearly connected sentences and using a wider range of natural transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “cleaning,” “gardening,” “music classes,” and “potential candidate,” so your meaning is generally clear. There is some attempt at less common language, such as “consideration” and “accordingly,” but several spelling errors and awkward word choices reduce accuracy and naturalness. Examples include “requirenment,” “volenteer,” “availble,” and “disoppoint”; “some works” is also an unnatural phrase for household tasks. The repeated use of “help” and “work” limits flexibility. Build accuracy by checking spelling carefully and learning common collocations for domestic duties and availability, such as “household chores” and “available on weekdays.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional “I could help you with gardening” and the time contrast in “On weekdays … but … on weekends.” These structures communicate your plans clearly. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence construction and punctuation. For example, “I am writing to ask you regarding requirement” uses an awkward pattern, and “I am looking forward hearing from you” needs “to hearing.” The long sentence beginning “I like to help people in general” would be clearer if divided into shorter sentences. Review verb patterns after expressions such as “look forward to,” and use punctuation to separate connected ideas; this will make your otherwise understandable message more controlled.
