Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make a relevant attempt to apply for the work and give a reason, saying you are a homemaker, know Mrs Barrett’s routine, and would enjoy sharing local news. However, the task is only partially addressed: the help you could provide is not specified, and your availability is unclear. “16th of June to the 23rd June” gives a short date range, but it does not explain your availability across next summer or when you will not be available. The reason for wanting the work is also limited mainly to “some gossips.” To strengthen the letter, name practical duties such as cooking or cleaning, explain your motivation more fully, and state clear available and unavailable days or periods.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable letter format and groups related information into paragraphs: your suitability, your schedule, and your interest. This gives the reader some organisation. However, there is no clear overall progression, and several ideas are joined in long, crowded sentences, especially the paragraph beginning “as you know i m also a house maker.” Repeated openings such as “as we all know” and “hope this letter finds you” do not help connect the points, while references such as “the mention time period” are unclear. Use one paragraph for the offer of help and motivation, and another for a precise schedule. Shorter sentences and clear links such as “In addition” or “However” would make the sequence easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “advertised,” “helper,” “available,” and “schedule,” and the reader can generally identify your purpose. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter difficult to read: “rediant,” “leaflat,” “perity,” and “gossips.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “looking for the helper for your house” and “share you what's going on.” Choose common, accurate expressions rather than attempting phrases whose meaning or collocation is uncertain. For example, say “I saw your advertisement on the community hall noticeboard” and “I would be happy to help with household chores.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and time expressions, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors occur frequently. Missing or incorrect subjects and verbs appear in “Hope this letter finds you” and “as we all know that the summer time”; the latter is not a complete, well-formed sentence. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “i show your advertised” and the long sentence beginning “i would like to mention you.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, and the closing “your sincerely” is not grammatically formed. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, then join them with accurate conjunctions. For instance: “I am available from 16 to 23 June, but I will be unavailable at other times.”
