Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address all three requested points: you offer cleaning, washing and cooking, explain that the work is nearby and suits your experience, and give a daily availability window of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, the availability explanation is incomplete because you do not say which days or dates you are unavailable, and the reason for wanting the job is mainly about travel rather than a fuller explanation of your interest. The cooking diploma and baking experience are relevant supporting details, but the letter would be more effective if you developed them in a clearer, more direct way. A more complete account of your schedule and a specific reason for wanting to help Mrs Barrett would make the response address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The main information is present, and the reader can identify your proposed duties, experience and working hours. However, the response is written as one long paragraph, so the ideas do not have a clear overall progression. The sequence moves from your previous job to chores, cooking, baking, your confidence and then your schedule, with few clear transitions. Words such as “firstly” and “but” attempt to connect ideas, but they do not consistently show the relationship between them. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, one for your experience and duties, one for your motivation, and one for availability—and use linking phrases such as “In addition” and “Regarding my schedule” to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “house chores,” “cleaning,” “washing,” “cooking,” “baking” and “diploma in cooking.” These details make your offer understandable and show some range beyond very basic terms. However, spelling errors and awkward word choices are noticeable, including “advertisment,” “experince,” “cusion” and “proved myself a brillant helper.” Some expressions are also informal or unclear for a letter to a prospective employer, such as “wanna ask anything else” and “free fee to cantact.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural, polite collocations. For example, “household tasks” and “I would be pleased to assist” would make your offer sound clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your message communicates its main points, and you attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and many sentences contain errors that make the letter harder to read. For example, “Hope you are doing well, i looked your advertisment and writting this letter” lacks a clear subject and has faulty verb forms; “i will not do work for whole day” also has problems with articles and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, with several ideas joined by full stops or commas inappropriately. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas accurately. Check subject–verb structure, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries before submitting.
