Student answer (Band 6.5)
Waste disposal nowadays has become a major concern in most of the developed and developing countries all over the world. And several efforts has been taken to tackle this problem as early as possible. But before finding any proper solution, individual and government can take some steps to lower down this problem for the coming few years.
There are several reasons why the government is serious in resolving this issue. Among them, the major factor is that the plastic can not reused or recycled moreover, plastic is the only available material on the earth which can be disposed into open environment, since it will create lots of complications for nature and human beings. It has been noticed that these plastic debris found on road some time leads to serious life threatning accidents.
However, it is scientifically approved my scientists that some of sea creatures have been endangered just because of excessive plastic wastes into the sea. As the plastic covers the sea surface ,makes hard for the sunlight to reach the bottom, which creates oxygen deficiency among sea animals which leads to death of sea animals.
To resolve this issue government and individual can take some serious steps to tackle this problem. The government should bring reforms in there policies and should make it compulsory for the sellers to look for some other alternatives rather then using plastic. All the waste currently present should be used somewhere such as road construction, because plastic enhance the durability and performance of the road, which makes it last longing. On the other hand all the individual should take pledge never to use plastic in there daily life.
In my opinion, I believe that the government and all the individual should take this matter on priority basic and resolve the issue as soon as possible to save our environment and nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage caused by plastic and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact on sea life and the suggestion of using plastic in road construction. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the claim that plastic cannot be recycled is factually inaccurate and weakens the argument. The position is clear, but the explanation of the damage could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, ensure that the supporting arguments are factually sound and provide more detailed examples to fully flesh out the proposed solutions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the problem to the solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Among them, the major factor is that...' and 'On the other hand all the individual should take pledge'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of the argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from a more sophisticated range of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'debris', 'endangered', and 'deficiency'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'lower down this problem', 'scientifically approved my scientists', and 'priority basic'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the range of vocabulary is somewhat restricted, preventing a higher score. Focusing on more precise collocations and academic phrasing would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('several efforts has been taken', 'all the individual should take'), incorrect preposition usage ('disposed into open environment'), and confusion between 'there' and 'their'. Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring greater accuracy in basic grammar would help improve the score.
