Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited, and the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement. The points made, such as marine life endangerment and government regulation, are relevant but lack sufficient depth or specific examples to fully explore the topic. Because the essay is under-length, the development of ideas is necessarily restricted, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one side', 'Moreover', and 'In addition to it', though some are used mechanically or with slight inaccuracies. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is present, but the brevity of the paragraphs makes the overall structure feel somewhat underdeveloped. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help improve your score in this area.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains somewhat basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'bad impact' and 'plastic products' are used frequently. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'all kind of plastic wastes' (should be 'all kinds of plastic waste') and 'discard into right place' (should be 'discard them in the right place'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and demonstrate more precise control over collocations and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the usage', 'the government'), pluralisation ('all kind of', 'this products'), and preposition usage ('throwing around there corners'). While these errors do not generally impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
