Nowadays, huge number of plastic products are used and disoped in inappropriate way by many people. Thus it become a serious issue which create depression among the masses. In this essay, problematic effects of plastic on our environment and suitable solutions to this will be discussed along with sensible conclusion.
In regard to the damage problem, the major reason which can be stated is most of individuals use the plastic bag for once and through them away in the garbage rather then recycling bins which cause major damage to environment by polluting soil and water. Which directly effect human beings and aquatic animals. For example, dumping plastic in landfils or soil leads to polluting soil and decrease its productivity. And decomposed plastic particals leach down into water through rain which further pollutive water and aquatic life. Another huge effect of no recyclable plastic product is it brake-downs into small particals and absorbed by plants and eaten by animals which allows them to enter into food chain. According to research in Japan in 2020 more the 1000 samples are collect of vegetables and fishes. From which 80% contains microplastic in them which is consumed by humans. Seeing the problems with the brighter mind, many solutions can be helpful to curb this menace. One of the solution is
government should promote alternate products in the place of plastic bags, bottles or packaging by replacing them with paper bags, steel bottles and using recyclable packaging material of paper or plastic to decrease the pollution caused by plastic. Secondly governments must implement huge tax on plastic products and its production to mitigate the effect, if possible total ban should be imposed on use of one time use plastic to preserve the environment and other living animals on earth.
In conclusion, it is a serious global issue solving it is not easy but the joint efforts of people and government, a control can be taken over the problem. with aforementioned suggested measures I believe that everyone should come forward to mitigate this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage (soil/water pollution, food chain contamination) and suggesting solutions (government policy, taxes, alternatives). The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the reference to research in Japan. However, the development is somewhat uneven; the explanation of the 'food chain' impact is strong, but the solutions section is slightly less detailed. The position is clear throughout, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the topic. To reach a higher band, ensure that the solutions are as thoroughly explored as the problems, perhaps by providing more specific examples of how individuals can contribute beyond just government action.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In regard to,' 'For example,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Seeing the problems with the brighter mind,' which is not a standard idiomatic expression. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences are fragmented or run-on, which affects the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong, unified topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'landfills,' 'microplastic,' 'leach,' and 'mitigate.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'disoped' (disposed), 'particals' (particles), 'pollutive' (pollute), and 'tumer' (tumor). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent understanding. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and learning the correct word forms (e.g., noun vs. verb usage) to express ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('huge number of plastic products are used,' 'it become a serious issue'), article misuse, and incorrect verb forms ('through them away' instead of 'throw'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede communication, as the meaning remains clear. To progress, the student needs to focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining the use of complex structures to ensure they are error-free.
