Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. The ideas are relevant, though some points, such as the impact on soil fertility, are mentioned briefly without sufficient development. The position is clear throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your examples with more specific detail or logical explanation, particularly regarding how government policies or individual actions lead to tangible environmental improvements. Overall, the task is fulfilled adequately, providing a clear structure that covers the required components.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Firstly', and 'To illustrate', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother in places. For instance, the transition between the impact on marine life and the impact on human health could be better linked. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main aspects of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your argument easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'detrimental', 'non-degradable', and 'ecosystem'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'One of the primary devastation' (should be 'devastations') and 'it automatically enter in the food chain' (should be 'enters the food chain'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms (nouns vs. adjectives) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Environment damage is the global concern nowdays' (missing article and spelling), 'It will creates' (subject-verb agreement), and 'in conclusion' (capitalization). Additionally, there are issues with pluralization and article usage throughout the text. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain minor errors. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
