Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on soil pollution is brief, and the solutions provided—while relevant—lack depth. The example regarding the 'daily tribune' is specific but the explanation of the mechanism of harm (e.g., 'stuck in their food pipe') is slightly simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning and broader implications for the environment.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the impact on animals and the conclusion of the first paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother with more varied linking words and better-integrated transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'irrefutable', 'multifarious', and 'repercussions'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'people through plastic' (should be 'throw'), 'it can threat to animals' (should be 'pose a threat'), and 'plastic is dangers' (should be 'dangerous'). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning the correct word forms (nouns vs. adjectives) and common collocations to ensure your vocabulary is used with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('plastic commodities deteriorate'—should be 'deteriorates'), incorrect verb forms ('people still do not resist to buy'—should be 'resist buying'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors would be beneficial.
