Student answer (Band 6.0)
Now a days in the fast-running lifestyle of the Individual the plastic things are playing a vital role as everyone around wants to take short cuts and utilize use and throw material for each and everything. Plastic bags, Plastic bottles and plastic packaging indeed play a huge role causing harm and danger for the environment.
Plastic does the several major damages to the entire human force and also to the environment, Using plastic on day-to-day basis has an adverse effect on the environment. Like for eg using plastic for consumption of food is not good for health. Packing and storing food in the plastic jars and containers contaminates the food if kept for longer. Usage of plastic spoons and glasses and when thrown in the garbage it chocks up the water outlet. It is has proved very dangerous for animals as well. The garbage thrown by humans contain plastic in it and if animals consume that food, it is going to life threating for them.
Governments need to draw restrictions and band on using of plastic. they should charge fine if plastic consumption increases and not stepped. Not only the governments but the leaders of each area in particular region should also actively take part in putting a ban on plastic. Its the responsibility of each and every individual as well to keep the country and fellow people healthy. As an individual should use cloth bags instead of plastic for daily purpose, also the school and universities should conduct campaigns on avoiding plastic.
Would like to conclude with that the future generations and youth would be able to set the best example of being against use the plastic.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on environmental damage is quite general, and the solutions provided, while relevant, lack depth and specific examples. The position is clear, but the arguments could be extended further to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully summarize the main points or provide a final thought on the urgency of the issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition between the problem and the solution is abrupt. There are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'they should charge fine if plastic consumption increases and not stepped.' The logical flow is generally maintained, but the connections between sentences could be smoother and more varied to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'fast-running lifestyle,' 'entire human force,' and 'chocks up the water outlet.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to common terms. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions related to environmental issues, such as 'non-biodegradable,' 'sustainable alternatives,' or 'mitigate the impact.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Issues include incorrect article usage ('the plastic things'), subject-verb agreement ('the garbage... contain'), and awkward phrasing ('it is has proved very dangerous'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
