It is irrefutable that plastic products are causing harmful effects on surroundings. This essay delve into the causes behind the negative effects by usage of plastic and would give solution to mitigate this problem.
The prime reason behind the environmental cause generated by plastic is its composition of synthetic polymers that makes it durable, non-reactive and non-biodegradable. Due to this physical feature, it can survive on earth for billions of years.
Even to burnt it is dangerous due to emission of poisonous green house gases which leads to air pollution and results global warming. When it enters into waterbodies and it gets dumping in land then both marine and terrestrial ecosystem get harshly affected by it. This is because, the microplastic, mixed with water and soil and consumed by plants and fishes in the water. As a result, it enters into food chain and become the root cause of various life threating diseases in humans and animals. For example, In India, many fishes and aquatic plants eradicated due to the presence of large amount of plastic in rivers and oceans.
However, solutions are not so far, being a responsible citizen, every individual should follow 3R's that is reduce one-time-use plastic products, recycle water bottles and boxes, and use bio-degradable material to pack things. Moreover, Government should make strict rules to mitigate this problem and should provide awareness camps for public where they can learn how to reuse things made of plastic. Adding to it, there should be some centers where people can deposit plastic product so that it can be used for recycling and should return some price money to motivate public to recycle and reduce.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the explanation of microplastics entering the food chain. However, the development is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors that obscure the intended meaning, such as the phrase 'gets dumping in land'. While the position is clear, the essay would benefit from more sophisticated examples beyond the brief mention of India to fully support the arguments. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for problems and solutions, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'As a result', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph where the student includes fragmented notes. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is generally clear and easy to follow throughout the main body of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'synthetic polymers', 'non-biodegradable', and 'terrestrial ecosystem'. There are some spelling errors ('plactic', 'plasting', 'threating') and minor collocation issues, such as 'environmental cause generated by plastic' instead of 'environmental damage'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the message, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. The inclusion of informal notes at the end of the response also detracts from the overall lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability, such as 'This essay delve into' (subject-verb agreement), 'Even to burnt it is dangerous' (incorrect verb form), and 'it gets dumping in land' (incorrect passive construction). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence boundaries and comma usage. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is inconsistent.
