Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on environmental damage mentions non-biodegradability and toxic fumes, but these points are not fully expanded with specific examples or deeper analysis. The solutions provided are relevant but remain quite general, such as the suggestion to replace plastic with paper or glass. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your arguments, ensuring that each point is thoroughly explored rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas throughout the text. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'One the first hand' (which contains a typo) and 'in conclusions'. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of the argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from a more sophisticated use of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'plastic products', 'bad', and 'things'. There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'desolve' (dissolve), 'burry' (bury), and 'danger chemical' (dangerous chemicals). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they demonstrate a limited range of vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to environmental issues, such as 'non-biodegradable', 'synthetic polymers', or 'mitigation strategies', and pay closer attention to spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The usage of plastic products are increasing'), incorrect verb forms ('you cant refused'), and missing articles or incorrect pluralization ('A new researches have been claimed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
