Student answer (Band 6.0)
Products which is made from plastic is very harmful for the environment. I will discuss below how plastic is affecting environment and what can be do to avoid damaging our nature.
Firstly, Usage of plastic is very dangerous. By having food and water that is stored in plastic can lead to food poisioning in human health. For Example, Plastic bottles container (truck) travel from one place to another under the sun. Plastics melts under the sun and humans drink that watewr which contains micro-plastic in the plastic water bottle that leads to damage health of human. Secondly, Plastic takes a lot of years to decompose. It will not dissolve in land and at last we end up burning it which lead to air pollution and people will get health disease by breathing in contaminated air.
To commence with, there are some measures we can take and consider to solve this problems. Lets start with putting ban on producing plastics. Governemnt should make a rule to recycled papar bags and glass bottles to avoid risking human life. For Instance, All the sellers with lorries and stores should give paper bages to customers to carrey their fruits and vegetable and other stuff. Also individual should stop purshasing products which is made up of plastics. On other hand, instead of buring plastics it should be recycled and reuse to avoid damaging environment.
Overall, individuals and government should be more strict when it comes to using plastics products, as at the end it will affect our own lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying environmental damage and suggesting solutions for both governments and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation of plastic damage is repetitive, focusing heavily on health concerns rather than broader environmental impacts like marine life or ecosystem disruption. The solutions provided are relevant but lack depth; for example, the suggestion to 'ban producing plastics' is a broad idea that could be better supported with specific examples of policy or economic alternatives. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear reasoning and specific, well-explained examples rather than brief, general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To commence with', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'To commence with' to introduce the second body paragraph, which is not the standard usage for this phrase. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'that' in 'that leads to damage health', which lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is present, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall logical progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'poisioning', 'papar', 'bages', 'carrey', 'purshasing', and 'buring'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. The word choice is often simplistic, relying on basic terms like 'bad', 'dangerous', and 'stuff'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary related to environmental science and policy, and pay closer attention to spelling and accurate word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'Products which is made' (should be 'are made') and 'plastic melts' (should be 'plastic melts'—though here the subject 'plastics' was pluralized incorrectly). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in human health' instead of 'to human health'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization will significantly improve your accuracy.
