Student answer (Band 4.5)
Pastic bags, plastic bottles and plastic packaging are bad for environment.Plastic demaged all the climate and it causes hazardness.Actually in these days everyone is suffering from differnt diseases. The main reason behind it that we are using plastic material alot in our daily lives. Government should banned all pastic packaging and emphasize civilians to use paper bags rather than plastic.moreover government have to arranged the seminars and posters in which it will be clear and understandable for everyone that plastic is not good for health and it creates significant harmful bacteria and germs and society is going effected day by day by using plastic materilas.
however being a society member it is our duty to educate everyone of its usages.firstly we have to cut it off from daily life routine and instaed of these we have to use paper materials. While doing grocery ,when we go to the supermarket we have to use paper bags in which all items will be carry easily.
On the other hand plastic causes dangerous diseases when we eat differnt strret foods in plastic packaging, ignoring the side effects.our surrounding is rceated more germs and illness by the using of platic.Northern areas are affected very speedily as tourist went there and throw all the plastic garbage on clean mountainy roads it will increases the dust pollution.
According to me plastic usage is not good for health as well as not good for environment too.It causes hazardus effects on society. So there is aneed to aware our public reagarding usage of plastic products and it causes cancer too, which is very dangerous disease.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the main parts of the task by identifying environmental damage caused by plastic and suggesting solutions for governments and individuals, meeting the minimum length requirement after accounting for copied prompt words. However, the position is only partially clear due to limited and under-developed ideas. For instance, the discussion on the damage done by plastic touches upon health issues and tourist areas, but these points are supported with vague generalisations rather than detailed elaboration. Similarly, the solutions proposed by the government and individuals remain basic, mentioning bans and paper bags without exploring broader structural or personal strategies. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to extend their arguments with more specific examples and fully developed explanations for each part of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation evident in the essay, as the writer attempts to divide ideas into paragraphs discussing government action, individual responsibilities, and specific negative effects of plastic. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, with transitions like 'however being a society member' and 'On the other hand' failing to connect ideas smoothly. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, and paragraphing is irregular, which hinders the readability of the text. To achieve a higher score, the writer must use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive ties, ensure logical links between sentences and paragraphs, and maintain a clear developmental progression throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'hazardness' and 'significant harmful bacteria', but these attempts are marred by noticeable errors in word form, collocation, and spelling, including 'Pastic', 'demaged', 'differnt', 'materilas', and 'reagarding'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and impede fluent communication. To improve this criterion, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary, pay closer attention to word formation and word choices, and check their spelling carefully to ensure precise and natural expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside faulty attempts at complex structures. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including missing articles (e.g., 'is a need to aware our public'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'Government should banned', 'government have to arranged'), and poor punctuation with spacing issues around commas. These persistent errors can cause difficulty for the reader in grasping the intended meaning. To reach the next level, the writer must exercise better control over basic grammatical patterns, improve subject-verb agreement, use correct verb tenses and modals, and apply punctuation accurately across a wider variety of sentence forms.
