Student answer (Band 5.5)

World has been suffering from many burning issuses, where plastic plays vital role in global warming. Plastic related items such as bags, bottles and plastic packaging are dangerous for the environment. Causes and possible solution to this situation are discussed in the upcoming pragraphs.

To begin with, there are tramendous causes happened due to plastic. First and formost damage is spoiling land. Make it more clear, whether a person use plastic beg for their convient then chances of throwing plastic on the floor will be higher, which may have adverse effect on environment. As a consequence, throwing plastic everywhere creates not only pollution for country but also its become headaque for that nation because of not recycling plastic material. For instance, in India, their government run a program for reducing plastic usage because right now pollution due to plastic is higher in India as compared to other nations. Therefore, usage of plastic creates more damage to the environment.

However, there are plenty of ways in which this problem can be solved. Firstly, authority can either make a strick rules or run a compaign with the help of celebrities and businessmen, who can help to mitigate this issue by spreding positive energy. As a result, people will follow their rules and regulations due to heavy panelties which is set by government. For example, in Arab country like Dubai, we are not allowing to throw plastic in neither public places nor private place.

Moreover, a person is also responsible to help government through avoiding plastic related items like plastic beg while shopping. To elaborate it, say no to plastic beg while a shopkeeper offer while shopping. Try to use hand made cloth bags or avoid beg totally. Thus, individuals and government mitigate this issue.

To recapitulate, although plastic does more damage to the environment like increasing pollution, not recycling proprely, this problem can be solved by government and individual by making strick rules, running compaign and avoiding plastic begs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies land pollution and inadequate recycling as environmental damage, then proposes government rules and campaigns alongside individual choices such as using cloth bags. The examples about India and Dubai also help make the discussion relevant. However, the damage is explained rather generally: the essay does not clarify how plastic harms wildlife, waterways, or ecosystems, and the claim about global warming in the introduction is not developed. Some proposed measures, such as campaigns with celebrities, are mentioned but not explained in detail. To strengthen the response, develop a few effects and solutions with clear cause-and-effect reasoning and make sure each example directly supports the point being made.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to environmental damage, solutions, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “Moreover” make the main stages easy to follow. This gives the response a coherent progression. Some linking is mechanical, though, with repeated “As a consequence,” “Therefore,” and “Thus” doing more to announce connections than to develop them. A few references are also unclear, such as “their government” after mentioning India and “this issue” where the precise problem could be restated. Use a wider range of natural links and connect each supporting example explicitly to the claim it illustrates.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main points, including “pollution,” “recycling,” “government,” and “mitigate.” It also attempts more formal expressions such as “adverse effect” and “recapitulate.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “burning issuses,” “tramadous,” “strick rules,” and “heavy panelties.” Phrases such as “spreading positive energy” are vague in this context, while “plastic beg” is repeated instead of using the correct term. Build accuracy with common environmental collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise wording will make the argument clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There is some variety in sentence forms, including conditional and relative clauses, as in “if a person use plastic…” and “who can help to mitigate this issue.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but control is uneven: “World has been suffering” lacks an article, “a person use” has subject–verb disagreement, and “people will follow their rules” has an unclear pronoun reference. Some longer sentences are awkwardly constructed, particularly the sentence beginning “Make it more clear,” which does not fit smoothly with the surrounding explanation. Practise accurate articles, agreement, and clause construction, then punctuate longer sentences so that each one expresses a clear relationship between its ideas.
