Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both parts of the question: you describe harm to people, plants and animals, and suggest that individuals reduce plastic use while governments impose fines and recommend biodegradable bags. These are relevant points, but they are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples or developed reasoning. For instance, you say plastic particles can enter the human body and cause illness, but do not explain how plastic pollution reaches people or give an example. The proposed government measures also need clearer detail about how they would be applied. The response is one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each main idea with a cause-and-effect explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic overall structure: the opening introduces environmental pollution, the middle discusses its effects, and the final paragraphs offer solutions and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your response. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the discussion of human health, plants and animals runs together without clear separation, and links such as “on same hand” do not clearly show the relationship between points. Use one paragraph for each main focus, such as environmental damage, individual action and government action. Then connect sentences with accurate, varied linking phrases and clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “pollutant water,” “biodegradable bags” and “plastic materials,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms make meaning unclear, as in “dust particles” for water pollution and “plants life.” Spelling errors such as “genetions,” “pllutant” and “pastic” are noticeable, while repeated use of “plastic,” “effects” and “things” limits precision. Build a more accurate set of environmental terms and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “contaminated water,” “wildlife” and “plastic waste” would help you explain the impacts and solutions clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “As plastic is not friendly with water and doesnot easily degradable,” but complex sentences are often faulty and the range of sentence structures is limited. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur frequently: “it harm our environment,” “it cause serious issues,” and “Every individual have to take part.” Some sentences also lack clear grammatical boundaries, particularly the long sentence beginning “When this pollutant water…”; missing punctuation makes it harder to follow. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct subjects and verbs. Check articles, plurals and punctuation when editing, and divide long sentences where they contain several separate ideas.
