Student answer (Band 6.0)
The eminent use of plastics is impacting negatively to the environment, with widely being used in every day-to-day requirement such as bags, bottles and even packaging. With drastic effects on climate to affecting the quality of food everything is being effected. Multiple preventive steps should be taken to manage the use of plastics by government and indiviuals.
The use of plastics surged up with the relative ease of usage of anything possible. From carring anthing to handy bottles for quick hydration breaks during work and food being wrapped up in plastics became common and convenient. But, behind the ease was its detrimental effects affecting not only single entity but the whole population. Plastic can not be recycled and do not degrade into the soil easily which makes the soil barren where it is burried or kept, releasing more particles affecting the air quality. Moreover it affects the ozone layer and affecting the overall air index and climate. Talking more about it, food kept in plastic storage boxes and rewarmed is harmful to eat as the plastic boxes melts or emit certain chemicals in food potentially harmful for health. For instance, use of plastic bottles and lunch boxes by kids can lead to more sickening epidoes than the kid using alternatives.
As being said, about the disastrous impacts of plastic use, the governing bodies to single person should take nessacary steps to reduce the use of plastics. Such as, government should run campaigns to promote paper usage for bags. There should be a collabaration with local NGOs to organize webinars and seminars on damage done by plastics and promote lessening it. Indiviuals should be more conscious on buying products which do not use plastic. The more use of paper or glass for storage and steel bottles can be used instead.
In conclusion, there is definetely damaging effects of plastic on environment and specific measure should be taken by locals including whole community and even on larger scale governments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the task and maintain a clear overall position that plastic causes serious harm and action is needed. The response gives relevant examples of environmental damage, including soil degradation, air pollution and possible chemical contamination of food, then proposes government campaigns and individual choices such as using glass or steel. This meets the task well, but the two parts are not equally developed: the environmental effects receive more explanation, while the proposed measures are mostly listed rather than explained in terms of how they would reduce plastic use or waste. Some claims, such as plastic affecting the ozone layer and children becoming ill, would be stronger with clearer support or more precise explanation. Develop each solution with a specific mechanism or example to make the response more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining harms, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from the convenience of plastic to its consequences is logical, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “As being said” does not link naturally to the previous paragraph, and “Talking more about it” is a vague transition. The opening sentence also combines several ideas in a way that makes the relationship between them difficult to follow. Improve cohesion by using more precise links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a clear sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “detrimental effects,” “recycled,” “barren,” “air quality,” and “conscious,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “eminent use,” “surged up,” “quick hydration breaks,” and “sickening episodes.” Spelling errors, including “indiviuals,” “nessacary,” and “definetely,” further reduce accuracy. Some phrases are repetitive, particularly repeated references to plastic and its effects. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe plastic use as “widespread” and say that it “has increased sharply.” This would make your meaning clearer and your vocabulary more controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where it is burried or kept” and a conditional example beginning “For instance.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures contain errors that can make the reader pause. For example, “The eminent use of plastics is impacting negatively to the environment” has an incorrect grammatical pattern, while “Plastic can not be recycled and do not degrade” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Moreover it affects the ozone layer and affecting” also shifts structure without completing the parallel construction. Work on agreement, verb forms, and complete sentence patterns. Breaking long or loosely connected sentences into shorter, accurate units will improve clarity while you build confidence with complex structures.
