Student answer (Band 6.0)

These days plastic manufacturing is performed on a very large scale all around the globe. Most of the companies do it knowing all the harmful affects it have to the enviorment from the process of manufacturing plastic to the use and then the decomposition or recycling.

In my knowledge, Plastic have a very magnificient difference in the ratio of it's useful and harmful effects being harmful effects much more. Plastic's most harmful damage is it's gas that leaks while creation and destruction of different plastic products. It is a cause of atmosphere degradation as the gases plastic extract while burning create fluctuations in the ozone layer which protect the world from ultraviolet rays of the Sun. Along with this, plastic is a major cause of soil erosion which affects the cultivation of crops due to which farmers have to use fertilizers for better crop production. Furthermore, using plastic products in daily life can even be harful to human health as well as the health of other living creatures that may waste plastic products unknowingly.

Plastic products are becoming a very concerning topic for the coming generations and if nothing is done now it might be too late sooner then everyone thinks. Governments around the world should impose strict restrictions on production of plastic products like using methods that does not require heating plastic to be heated which release harful gases. They should also have proper waste disposal methods and not allow any kind of waste disposal in environments natural resources. We should also start campaigns to make people aware about the harmful effects of plastic which will motivate everyone to use more traditional methods which are environment friendly like using mud products. Companies that provide many varities of enviorenment friendly products created from tree leaves, stones, mud etc. should be promoted to motivate people towards using their products.

We all know that plastic have been damaging our environment in many ways. It has been a concern for mankind for decades now and if nothing is done to stop it now we will regreat it later. Best ways to do it is to work individually and with the governments togetger so we can make the environment healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the task: you describe environmental and health damage, then suggest actions for governments and individuals. The points about emissions during plastic production and burning, soil impacts, and harm to wildlife are relevant. Your proposed responses—restrictions on production, improved waste disposal, awareness campaigns, and alternatives such as mud products—also show a clear general position. However, some claims are unclear or insufficiently explained, particularly the link between plastic and ozone-layer fluctuations and the claim that plastic causes soil erosion. The government measures are also not always practical or specific. Explain the mechanisms behind the damage more accurately and develop fewer solutions with concrete examples of how they would work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on environmental damage, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Along with this,” “Furthermore,” and “We should also” help readers follow the progression, and the conclusion returns to the need for joint action. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. However, several ideas are joined in long sentences, and links between claims are sometimes unclear—for example, the move from soil erosion to farmers’ use of fertilisers. The conclusion largely repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them. Use clearer sentence boundaries and make the relationship between each cause, effect, and proposed response explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “decomposition,” “soil erosion,” “waste disposal,” “ultraviolet rays,” and “environment-friendly.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make ideas less precise: “harmful affects” should be “harmful effects,” “plastic extract” is not a natural expression, and “varities” and “enviorenment” are misspelled. Phrases such as “a very magnificient difference in the ratio” are also difficult to interpret. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing standard environmental collocations, such as “plastic emissions,” “contaminate soil,” and “reduce plastic consumption.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “if,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as the conditional warning that if nothing is done, it may be too late. However, there are recurring errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Plastic have” should be “Plastic has,” and “the gases plastic extract” needs a clearer grammatical structure, such as “the gases released by plastic.” In “methods that does not require,” the verb should agree with the plural noun. Long sentences also make punctuation and clause relationships harder to manage. Review subject–verb agreement and divide complex ideas into shorter, accurately punctuated sentences.
