Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowdays, Plastic Bags, Plastic Bottles and Plastic packages are bad for environment. This is a problem which we are having for very long time which is very harmful for nature. For example,Plastic does not decomposed by there are alot of diseases which are dangerours for us Humans as well for Animals.

Fisttly, there are many reason why I we should avoid use your of plastic. For Instance, we can depose of it easily it can cause new viruse and unknow diseases. We can not burn it Because it will pollute the air by which we can not able to breathe properly which cause Asythma. Secondly, same as air pollution plastic can also

be harmful for water. For example, Some people throw the uses plastic bottles in water and impure properties of plastic when mix with water so its created disease which are harmful for us.

There are some measure Government and we as a individual should take to stop this Such as Use the bages made up of paper and clothes.Government should instal recycle bin everywhere so people would not throw plastic anywhere or would not burn it as well with this we can avoid pollution. They should also make new rule and probitt the use of plastic as much as they can.

At the end, In my opinion the use of plastic can cause many more problems in future if we want to stop that from happenig we need to take care of this as soon as possible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both parts of the question: you mention harm to air and water, and suggest actions by governments and individuals. However, the environmental damage is only partly explained. The claim that plastic causes “new viruse and unknow diseases” is unclear and not supported, while the effects on wildlife and the persistence of plastic waste are not developed. Your proposed measures—using paper or cloth bags, providing recycling bins, and restricting plastic—are relevant, but need explanation or a concrete example. The final opinion is clear but repeats the general warning rather than extending it. The response also falls two words short of the required minimum, so ensure your answer meets the stated length while developing each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about environmental harm, a paragraph of proposed solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “At the end” help signal this organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the sentence about not burning plastic moves from air pollution to asthma without explaining the link, and the water example is hard to interpret. Some linking phrases are repetitive or inaccurate, including “For Instance” and “same as air pollution.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each cause, effect, and solution explicitly; this would make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “air pollution,” “recycle bin,” “plastic bottles,” and “pollute,” so the reader can identify the subject and main proposals. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make meaning unclear. “New viruse and unknow diseases” is not a convincing description of plastic’s environmental effects, while “impure properties of plastic” does not express clearly what happens when plastic enters water. There are also frequent spelling and word-form problems, such as “Nowdays,” “depose,” and “probitt.” Build a more precise set of terms for environmental impacts, such as “contaminate waterways,” “harm wildlife,” and “persist in the environment,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “which” and “if,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms occur frequently, as in “Plastic does not decomposed” and “we can not able to breathe,” and they sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Agreement and article use are also unreliable: “there are many reason” and “as a individual” need correction. Several sentences run together or have unclear punctuation, particularly the opening and the long sentence beginning “Government should instal recycle bin.” Practise forming accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
