Student answer (Band 5.5)

The draft shows that any kinds of battle or plastic bags can cost environmet. I belive on this statement.

I do believe that plastic or any kinds of plastics can damage the environmet. Like for example burning plastic can cause to air pollution, and by not throwing or segregating properly will cause also to nature, like if all the plastic will just be thrown anywhere then it can be polluted the water or the lake.

On the other hands, goverment has a big role on these problem, they can start by their self by showing the proper way of segregation or by educating humanity on how to do proper disposal of waste. Moreover, they are the one who can control or can inforce policy or rules that punish those who are not following the proper segregation. Goverment can also implement penalties for those who violates the rules. Individuals also can help solve the problem by doing the write things, especially in separating biodegredable and non-biodegredable. Small things can di big things to save the nature.

On my opinion, I believe that if goverment and individuals will help together in segregating waste on their way, will help a lot in promoting a good environmet. And for preserving the nature for future generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions and state a clear general view that plastic harms the environment and that governments and individuals should act. Relevant points include air pollution from burning plastic, water pollution from careless disposal, public education, penalties, and separating waste. However, the environmental damage is only briefly explained, and the solutions are mostly listed rather than developed with examples or detail. The opening phrase about “battle or plastic bags” also makes your position unclear at first. The response contains 211 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250; this limits the space available to explain the effects and support your proposals. Develop each main point with a cause, consequence, and specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the issue, discusses environmental harm, presents actions for governments and individuals, and ends with a concluding view. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “On the other hand” signal relationships between ideas. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “On the other hands” introduces the government paragraph, but the contrast is not fully explained, while the final sentence fragment beginning “And for preserving” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence. Improve progression by grouping related effects and solutions, and use clear references so readers can follow how each proposed action addresses a specific harm.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “air pollution,” “proper disposal,” “penalties,” and “biodegradable and non-biodegradable.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repeated expressions make the writing less clear. “Battle or plastic bags” appears to be an unintended word choice, and “segregating” and “proper segregation” recur without much variation. There are also spelling errors such as “environmet,” “goverment,” “inforce,” and “biodegredable.” Aim for accurate environmental terms and more precise collocations, such as describing plastic as “contaminating waterways” or policies as “enforcing regulations.” Proofreading spelling and choosing words carefully would make your meaning more reliable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if all the plastic will just be thrown anywhere” and a sentence explaining how governments can educate the public. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, prepositions, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “government has a big role on these problem” has problems with number and preposition, while “will help a lot” in the conclusion lacks a clear subject. The final phrase “And for preserving the nature” is also an incomplete sentence. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and sentence completeness.
