You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in response to your recent article claiming that town centres in our country all look very similar. Although I agree with some of the points you made, I believe that many towns still have their own unique character.

I agree that many town centres now have the same chain supermarkets, coffee shops, and clothing stores. As a result, they often appear alike, especially in the main shopping areas. I also agree that modern buildings have replaced some historic landmarks, reducing the individuality of certain towns.

However, my town centre is quite different from most others. It has several well-preserved heritage buildings, a beautiful riverside park, and a popular local market that sells handmade products from nearby farmers and artists. In addition, our town regularly hosts cultural festivals and community events, which give the area a lively and welcoming atmosphere. These features make it unique and attractive to both residents and visitors.

If you are interested, I would be delighted to show you around my town. I would be happy to give you a guided tour and introduce you to some of the places that make our town special. I am confident that you would gain a different perspective after seeing it for yourself.
