IELTS Writing Task 1 question
You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.
Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter
- say which points in the article you agree with
- explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
- offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear editor,
I am writing this letter to express my views on the article that I read on your newspaper about the town centres. I understood your thoughts, but I don’t fully agreed with your statement.
Firstly, you have mentioned that all the city centres have certain types of shops and brands, which i agree because every city is only selling the products which are in trend and demand. They should have at least tried to display unique and some new products, such as, new gadgets with the latest technology, having inbuilt AI.
On the contrary, I disagree with your statement that they all look similar, as my town has preserved its historical building. The town centre of my city is being built by renovating an ancient fort and has its own design and layout, which is mostly inspired from the culture and heritage. I am inviting you to visit my town and have a tour of our town centre, i would be more than happy to be your guide. You will be pleased by the beauty and architecture of our city centre.
