Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: agreeing with the article, explaining the uniqueness of the town, and offering a tour. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the development of ideas. The explanation of why the town is different is somewhat vague, and the tone is inconsistent, shifting between formal and informal. To improve, you should expand on the specific features of your town to provide more depth and ensure the letter meets the length requirement to fully develop your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for the task. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are often missing or mechanical, making the text feel disjointed. For example, the jump from describing the town to offering a tour is abrupt. Using linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' would help improve the flow and connect your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'botnical' instead of 'botanical' and 'respectly' instead of 'respectfully'. The phrasing 'heritage touch in a supermarket' is unnatural and unclear. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise adjectives and nouns to describe your town and ensure that your spelling and word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('I completely disagrees') and incorrect article usage ('in last sunday newspaper'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as the run-on sentence in the final paragraph. Improving your control over basic grammar, particularly verb tenses and sentence punctuation, is essential for clarity. Focus on proofreading to catch these frequent slips.
