Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this email to discuss an article that I recently read in your newspaper; however, I do not fully agree with some of the notions.

Firstly, I would like to inform you that I read the article that says the town centres of my nation are look same at every place, so I think it is not the same; there are numerous specialities available, such as architecture tradition which followed by people, and there are different areas where people can be found museum which look more fabulous than it is explained in the article.

In addition, there are specialities in my town which is explain various function than other towns. The buildings in the town are preserved from generation to generation. Also, at this time it is the same as it used to be.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task. You clearly state your disagreement with the article, provide specific examples of how your town differs (architecture and preservation), and offer a guided tour. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, you mention 'architecture tradition' and 'museums' but do not elaborate on what makes them unique or why they contradict the claim of uniformity. To reach a higher band, ensure your supporting details are more descriptive and fully explained rather than just mentioned. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to an editor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'Finally' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the article's claims and your town's features could be smoother. The use of paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better sentence-to-sentence transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'architecture', 'preserved', and 'specialities'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'notions' used in a slightly unnatural way and 'look same at every place'. You rely on basic vocabulary to describe your town. To improve, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and collocations to describe the unique character of your town, which would demonstrate a more flexible and sophisticated command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of your writing. For example, 'the town centres of my nation are look same' contains a verb error, and 'which followed by people' is missing an auxiliary verb. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for verb forms would significantly improve your accuracy.
